IDEAL PITCH VIDEO STRUCTURE

Your video must be between 1-3 minutes long and contain these 5 essential elements.

Customer

Who does your idea serve? Be specific about your target customer and their motives.

Music lovers want instant access to millions of songs but can't afford expensive CDs. Millennials grew up with digital music but are frustrated by paying $15 for just 12 songs or resorting to illegal downloads. They crave discovery, convenience, and a personalized music experience.

Problem

What acute problem does your customer face? Make it tangible and quantifiable.

Music piracy costs the industry $12.5 billion annually because people want unlimited music but can't afford it legally. They want to discover new artists but have no easy way. The problem is clear: music is too expensive and too hard to access legally. People are choosing between expensive CDs or breaking the law.

Solution

How is your idea unique and defensible? Why is it the right solution? What is it called?

We're building Spotify—a platform for unlimited, legal music streaming. Our freemium model offers free access with ads, or premium without ads. We'll license music from major labels, build a discovery algorithm that learns your taste, and create personalized playlists. Unlike iTunes' pay-per-song model, Spotify will give you everything for one monthly fee.

Plan

How will you build, launch, and grow? Be practical and realistic with achievable timelines.

We'll launch in Sweden first, then expand across Europe within three years. Our strategy: start free to build a massive user base, convert 20% to paid subscribers, and use data to improve recommendations. We'll partner with Facebook for viral growth, launch mobile apps, and secure exclusive content. Within five years, we plan to be in 50+ markets with 10+ million premium subscribers.

Revenue

How will you make money? Explain your revenue model and make a rough financial forecast.

We'll make money through subscriptions—$10 per month per premium user—and advertising revenue from free users. We'll pay 70% to rights holders and keep 30%. With 10 million paying subscribers in five years, that's $100 million monthly revenue. Our goal: reach 100 million users by year ten, with 20% conversion to premium, generating $2.4 billion annually.
