Admissions SMS Marketing Terms
Austin Christian University
Effective date: 2026-06-24
Last updated: 2026-06-24
These terms govern a single text-message (SMS) program: the Austin Christian University ("ACU," "we," "our," or "us") prospective-student marketing program. This is the only program covered by these terms, and it has one opt-in method. By turning on the SMS marketing opt-in described below, you agree to these terms.
1. The Program
- What we send. Recurring automated marketing text messages about ACU's programs, admissions, and events, and follow-up from admissions staff or current students. This is a marketing program.
- Who receives messages. Only people who have turned on the optional SMS marketing opt-in on the ACU info-packet form (described in Section 2). We do not add anyone to this program any other way.
- Message frequency. Message frequency varies — typically no more than a few messages per week, depending on where you are in the inquiry and application process.
2. How You Opt In (Single Method)
There is one way to opt in to this program: on the ACU info-packet form at austinchristianuniversity.org/info-packet, turn on the dedicated, standalone switch labeled "Text me updates about ACU."
- The switch is off by default and is optional.
- It is not required to submit the form or to receive the info packet.
- You must deliberately turn the switch on to consent. Submitting the form does not by itself opt you in.
- Turning the switch on consents only to this marketing program. It is the only consent collected by that control.
The disclosure shown with the switch reads: "By turning this on, you agree to receive recurring automated marketing text messages from Austin Christian University at the number you provided. Consent is not a condition of getting the info packet. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help."
3. Message and Data Rates
Message and data rates may apply. ACU does not charge for sending or receiving text messages, but your mobile carrier's standard messaging and data rates may apply. Contact your wireless provider for details about your plan.
4. Opting Out
Reply STOP to any message to opt out at any time. We also honor STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT, OPTOUT, and REVOKE. After you opt out, we send a single confirmation and will not send further marketing messages from this program unless you opt back in. You can also email privacy@austinchristianuniversity.org.
5. Getting Help
Reply HELP to any message for support, or email privacy@austinchristianuniversity.org.
6. Supported Carriers
Supported on major U.S. wireless carriers, including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, US Cellular, and most regional carriers and MVNOs. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
7. Eligibility
This program is open to individuals age 13 and older. If you are between 13 and 17, by opting in you affirm that a parent or guardian has reviewed these terms and our Privacy Policy and consents on your behalf.
8. Privacy
See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your information. We do not share your mobile information — including your phone number, your SMS opt-in and consent, and your message content — with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. SMS opt-in and consent information is never shared with any third parties.
9. Changes
We may update these terms; we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued participation after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms. You can opt out anytime by replying STOP.
